This course focuses on essential Islamic knowledge (Ilmu Haal) crucial for those living in the West to fulfill their religious obligations. However, this course draws from select classical texts, they serve as our primary foundation.
Traditional educational approaches often lack a holistic perspective, with instructors frequently focusing intensely on single subjects, potentially preventing students from ever completing a comprehensive curriculum. This fragmented learning hinders a broad understanding of Islamic knowledge, which is crucial for beginners. This course prioritizes a balanced approach, ensuring you gain a foundational grasp of all essential subjects within Islamic studies.
Through interviews with young adult Muslims residing in Western societies, we identified common challenges they encounter in their religious practice. This informed our selection of course topics, ensuring they address the specific needs of this demographic while encompassing the essential knowledge every Muslim should possess.
The course content has undergone peer review by graduates from the University of Madinah. While much of the material is not entirely novel, the unique organization and selection of topics distinguish this course.
